We talked to over 2,000 patients at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust during our pilot.
Here are some of their stories.

“I struggle with short term memory loss. I received a letter about my appointment, but it’s hard for me to remember the times and the dates.”

“I’ve got a very young baby and can’t make an appointment first thing, travelling on public transport.”

“I need to rearrange my appointment. I’ve got work commitments covering shifts with lots of people off sick.”

“I’ll struggle to make it into clinic before 9 o’clock. I’ll have to get two buses in rush hour, and I’m unsteady on my feet.”

“I know there’s a long waiting list but I just can’t make the appointment. It’ll take two hours each way to get to the hospital, and I need to do the school run and be there for my kids.”

Missed appointments lead to worse health outcomes for patients. Our AI tools identify risk of non-attendance, enabling proactive outreach to help get patients to their appointments.

There are 5.6 million patients on the NHS waiting list. We’ll fit them into the eight million missed appointment slots to reduce the backlog - without asking any more of NHS staff.

Our data sets predict non-attendance without identifying patients or using their medical records. We’re keeping patient data safe, outside the remit of GDPR.
